Rethinking Resource Sharing Award for INNOVATION

In May 2009, RapidILL was honored to receive the Rethinking Resource Sharing award for innovation. Several Rapid participants were attending the Rethinking Resource Sharing Conference and were present when the award was given.

RapidX is Xtraordinary!

The Rapid staff is pleased to announce our newest, very innovative feature: RapidX.

Using RapidX lending libraries can send articles in .tif, .tiff or .pdf file formats to any Rapid site regardless of whether the borrowing library prefers to receive articles via Ariel or Odyssey or directly to their Rapid website! The .tif, .tiff or .pdf files can be created using any high-quality scanning software.

In addition to determining which delivery method the borrowing library prefers and sending the article to that system, RapidX will automatically insert the Rapid cover sheet as the transmission’s first page and will automatically update the request to “filled” in the Rapid system.

RapidX eliminates the cross-compatibility issues between Ariel and Odyssey and enables libraries without Ariel or Odyssey to easily send and receive Rapid articles.
